Why We Insist On It
The fee comes back. The guesswork doesn’t.
A laser is not one machine and laser treatment is not one price. Hair removal, ink removal, vascular work and resurfacing are four different technologies doing four different jobs — and every one of them is quoted by the area treated and the number of sessions it will honestly take.
Which means nobody can quote you accurately over the phone. Not us, not anyone. Your skin type, the size and placement of the area, hair colour or ink density or scar depth, your medications, your history with previous treatment elsewhere — all of it changes the plan, and none of it is visible until a provider looks at the actual area.
So we charge for the consultation, and then we give it straight back to you against the package. The fee exists to protect the appointment slot, not to make money. If you book, it comes off your total. What you are actually paying for is a licensed provider’s undivided attention and a number you can trust.
- Your skin type assessed, and whether the treatment is safe for it
- The areas you want treated, measured and priced
- A realistic session count — not a best case
- A total cost for the outcome, not just the first visit
- The downtime you will need to plan around
- An honest answer if a different treatment would serve you better
- Pay the consultation fee when you book — it holds the appointment
- Sit down with a licensed provider and build the plan
- The fee is applied toward your package when you proceed — you are not paying twice
- No pressure to book on the day. The plan is yours to think about
- A list of any medication you take, particularly anything photosensitising
- Details of previous laser work — here or anywhere else, finished or abandoned
- Any history of keloid scarring, cold sores, or trouble healing
- The area itself, untanned. Recent sun or a sunbed changes how the laser behaves and can push your start date back
If the consultation concludes that laser is the wrong tool for what you want, we will tell you, and we will tell you what would work instead. That answer is worth the appointment on its own — and it is the reason we would rather sit down with you first than sell you a package you did not need.

Each consultation is specific to its technology, because the assessment is different every time. Not sure which to pick? Book any of them and call us — we will move you to the right provider before your appointment.
Consultation is required before CO₂ resurfacing — there are no exceptions on that one. For the others it is strongly recommended, and in practice it saves you money: an accurately built package almost always costs less than booking sessions piecemeal and discovering the area sizing in the chair. Financing is available through Affirm, Cherry and CareCredit on treatment packages, subject to eligibility.
